Evaluation of the robustness of transportation plans with RailSys®
The rail network of Ile-de-France is one of the busiest in the world. Half the traffic of the French SNCF Transilien runs on these 10 % of the French rail network. In order to be able to offer a high-quality transport service despite the high capacity utilisation, SNCF relies on RailSys®
With extensive developments of various components, RailSys® is operating at SNCF Transilien under the name DENFERT to enable a detailed modelling of the versatile aspects of rail traffic in France. The successful implementation of RailSys® at SNCF Transilien is especially based on the high accuracy that for example the French signalling systems BAL and BAPR as well as the European ERTMS can be modelled in RailSys® with.
In a large number of studies, SNCF Transilien has already implemented RailSys® to examine traffic scenarios and timetable studies of current projects and evaluate their expected operational quality. With RailSys® it is possible to verify the robustness of traffic services and develop propositions for infrastructural improvements (e.g. in signalling equipment).
Together, SNCF Transilien and RMCon strive for additional functional enhancements in RailSys® to further increase the fields of application and the modelling quality.
RMCon offers a wide range of services with the RailSys® Software Suite to all customers who also benefit from the experience of working directly with SNCF Transilien (consulting and software development).
The main aspects of working with RailSys® were recently described in the Revue Générale des Chemins de Fer (June 2019).
